Dressed Up

The Philips Innovation campus, at Ulsoor, Bangalore. Shot at 1 AM on 15th March 2006.

Okay, I'm going to get a little verbose on this one. We had Holi celebrations in office yesterday, and as usual, I got completely colored. I got home at around 11, soaked myself and my clothes, washed them and went up on the terrace to hang them up at around 12:30 AM. That was when I saw the above building, and my jaw dropped down in amazement.
I immediately knew what I had to do; ran downstairs, got my camera and was back on the terrace in a jiffy. Then I faced the first hurdle. Not enough part of the building was viewable from my terrace. I looked at the adjacent building. I made up my mind - jumped across to the other terrace with my camera. It had another floor, which gave me more leverage. So step one done :)
Then came the second hurdle. No tripod. And I couldn't lie down this time (I'd done that for the moon shot, to keep the camera steady) Luckily, there was a half-pillar available. So, after wiping it clean with my t-shirt, and laying tissue paper on it, kept my camera there.
All set. Got the settings right, and clicked. This was the result :)

Innocence

Forgot to change the ISO setting - resulting in a not-so-good pic :( These are children from the villages near the Pegasus Institute, Doddaballapur, around 65 kilometres north of Bangalore.

For All Eternity

The tombs of Tipu Sultan's sons and daughters. The building holds his tomb as well.
The pillars are pure Persian granite, brought from there in single piece. The texture is natural.

Dwarfed

A Boeing 747, currently the largest passenger airliner (soon to be overtaken by the Airbus A380 though) Taken from the lounge at LA International Airport (quick shot, since photography is banned there :D)
